We have all been there, you have a big date or a well anticipated girls’ night out planned and you wake up with an embarrassing skin issue! The good news is that rather than hiding in your house in shame, there are simple ways to fix these problems in a flash! These tips will help you take care of those pesky issues quickly – allowing you to still go out and enjoy your night. The best news is that all that it typically requires is items you already have lying around your home.
Dry Skin
If you do not suffer from chronic dry skin, but wake up one day with large dry patches that make wearing makeup near impossible, there’s a solution right in your kitchen. Honey, yogurt, and avocado mixed together make a great mask that provides intense moisture for your skin, giving you a beautiful glow that is ready to take the town by storm. Simply mix together equal amounts of each ingredient and distribute it equally on your face, letting it remain there for at least 20 minutes. Wash it off, pat it dry, and your dry skin is gone!
Puffy Eyes
Whether you had a long night, were crying, or are just dehydrated, waking up with puffy eyes is not a sight you want to see. Before you cancel your big plans, head to the kitchen and grab either a cucumber or some tea bags and get those puffy eyes to be a thing of the past. The key is to use something cold. Cucumbers that were stored in the refrigerator are perfect because they can be cut to the perfect size of your eyes and provide the chill that your skin needs. If you don’t have a chilled cucumber, tea bags can be wet and frozen for 15 minutes before applying to your eyes.
Red or Puffy Skin
Red or puffy skin can make you look as if you were crying all night or spent too much time in the sun, neither of which are flattering looks. In order to get these issues under control, honey is all that you need. Spread the honey on the areas that need it and let it sit for at least five minutes. Honey is an anti-inflammatory as well as anti-bacterial product, which benefits your skin immediately, eliminating the redness.
Pimples
Unfortunately, pimples are not only a problem during your teen years – they can plague you for the rest of your life and when you least expect them. Rather than hiding in shame, grab an ice cube and get the swelling down. This will help the pimple look much smaller, allowing you to hide it with your favorite concealer and no one will be the wiser! If you want to use something a little stronger, tea tree essential oil is just as effective as store bought products that contain benzoyl peroxide, helping that pimple to be a thing of the past in no time.
Red or Swollen Eyelids
Whether you are tired or have been crying, red eyelids are not a look you want to show off. If chilled cucumbers did not do the trick for you, dash your eyelids with concealer before putting on your eyeshadow. Make sure to apply it to the entire lid, including the corners. Now, not only will your eyeshadow have a foundation to stick to, but your redness will be hidden from the public eye.
Each of these simple beauty fixes will help you look your best in a flash! There is no more hiding because you woke up with a huge pimple in the middle of your forehead or because you did not drink enough water for the past few days and your skin is rebelling against you. These tricks can be done in 30 minutes or less and will have you looking your best as you head out the door for your big event!
